A bit about who I am, what I do and why...
Established in 2018The Why
How can I use my creative skills to help others? Since transitioning to a vegan lifestyle, I found a slight lack of specialist occasion-wear (bridal, prom, ball, burlesque, circus) for the vegan community. So what better way to use my love sewing, and creative problem solving abilities to a good cause! After all, vegan's are human too! |
The Goals01. To provide bespoke special occasion-wear aimed at everyone and anyone by using ethical fabrics and hardware that is animal free, plant-based and unique.
02. To use my creative skill-set to spread awareness that veganism is not just about food but about the lifestyle i.e clothing. 03. To understand you as a person, your outfit will reflect your personality and character. It will be designed with you at the centre. |

Beginning
I became vegan when I rescued my cat (Chester), he helps to keep me sane and feel less alone. When I read an article about veganism I suddenly realised - "Why am I eating an animal when I could never eat my cat!" So I transitioned overnight. I have struggled with my mental health for a while, becoming vegan has greatly improved my relationship with food, but what about everything else? It frustrates me that there is so much emphasis on vegan food. So I decided to use my skills in costume/textiles/fashion to provide a bespoke costume service to the curious individuals who are seeking that special outfit. Costume Experience I studied costume with textiles at university then a master's in fashion and textiles (before I became vegan). Exploring the costume design process, costume construction and printed textiles to bring a character to life. I also volunteer at local theatre groups - creating costumes, sourcing props and working backstage. I will use the costume design process to help me understand your character and create an outfit that reflects you as a person. Creative Outputs Alongside my costume business, I am also a member of The Art of Compassion Project. A collection of artists worldwide who use their artwork to promote, expose and express veganism.
